Hannah Cross

Hannah joined the band at the end of 2005 just in time for the 2nd section Yorkshire Areas win in March 2006. Previous banding experience has been mainly orchestral, playing for the Merseyside Youth Orchestra, 1999-2001. Brass banding experience includes playing for Wirral Schools' Brass Band 1996-2001. Currently sitting on 2nd trombone in the elite section of the band!

Started playing the trombone at the age of 9, as I was the only person in the class with long enough arms to reach 7th position! Taught by Alan Milnes who persuaded me to join Wirral Schools' Brass Band. This youth brass band covered mostly trad. brass band music and boasted some of the best players around, including Les Neish (solo Ebb Bass Fodens Richardson Band). Probably the band that pushed me into finding a band when I came to Huddersfield to study Chemistry.
