Tom Wellings - Bass Trombone

Tom started playing euphonium at 10 in primary school, then after his teacher, Richard Walters decided euph was pants and put him on trombone. A good enough reason! Joined Theakston Wakeman Brass Band in Ripon (on orders from his next teacher, Mark Sidwell) on Bass Trombone and has played Bass Trom ever since.

Joined Tewit Youth Band in Harrogate and also Harrogate Youth Jazz Orchestra (HYJO). Tom has also played for Harrogate Brass Band a few times, and finally joined Grange Moor when his old Tewit conductor, Malcolm Dibb, asked him to play at the 2005 Areas. Two Regional Championship wins and two National Finals later, it's all good.
